Graphic Design
I am passionate about creating things that make people feel good. Below is some of my work that I am immensely proud of.
MAGAZINE AD
One project in my Design & Layout course consisted of creating a magazine advertisement for the Lincoln’s Childrens Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska. We were tasked to create a single page ad layout in Adobe Illustrator that would enhance a message to the brand’s target audience and persuade them to check out the zoo.
MULTIPAGE LAYOUT
One project in my Design & Layout course consisted of designing a booklet of case studies that is a digital file that could be mailed and emailed. The three case studies I chose to do were about Aerie, Glossier, and Old Navy. This project gave us the chance to explore typography, color, and creating a unique yet cohesive spread. I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to develop the graphic and design elements and Adobe Indesign to combine those with copy.
BRAND IDENTITY
One project in my Design & Layout course consisted of creating a new international beer brand and developing a logo, basic style guide, and mockups. This project heavily used Adobe Illustrator for the logo design and guidebook, as well as Adobe Photoshop to put the product design in context. I worked alongside a peer in a Copy and Concept course to create the beer brand Cerro Colorado which is inspired by the Rainbow Mountain in Peru.
DIVERSITY CAMPAIGN
One project in my Design & Layout course was to work alongside a copywriter to design a mural for a large format space that makes an impact and turns heads. Our challenge was to think about how you can use the space, scale, and environment along with your design to promote diversity in Nebraska. One aspect of diversity that we think doesn’t get as much representation is disability diversity. We chose the mantra “Get Comfortable with the Uncomfortable” in hopes to push others to break past the social norms regarding those with disabilities and choose to embrace diversity.
MAGGIE MURPHY DESIGN
Maggie Murphy Design was a silver lining for me during what we call the "quarantine summer."I discovered my love for graphic design during this time when I felt isolated and so unsure about life.
